You can always check Yelp or visit TripAdvisor to find places to eat and drink when you’re visiting Lodge by The Blue, but there’s nothing better than getting the recommendations of our knowledgeable staff – they know the area better than anyone and will give you the insider scoop on what’s worth checking out.
This list comes from Lodge by The Blue GM Crystal H. We hope you’ll love her favorites too.
Crystal says the fine dining and romantic Victorian-era setting at The Hearthstone is perfect for a quieter evening. The menu features naturally raised beef and game, sustainably caught seafood, and Colorado produce in season. Happy hour is from 4-6 p.m., and dinner service begins at 5. Treat your favorite person and yourself! Reservations recommended.
Blue River is a trendy (but not super-trendy) café-style restaurant and bar that puts forth some really well-made food. Having been there myself, I agree with Crystal you can’t go wrong for brunch, lunch, dinner or cocktails. My perfect app was the Bistro Caprese. I’ve tried and failed repeatedly to make a balsamic reduction that rivals theirs – perfection!
If you’re looking for a great nightspot, Blue Stag’s fire places inside and out are a great way to take in the Breck ski lodge vibe. Continue your "Blue" streak at this cozy spot with rustic décor (not unlike our own Lodge by The Blue). The menu includes upscale pub food, and the bar features a rotating eight-tap beer lineup along with wine, cocktails and an impressive list of whiskey and scotch.
"Columbine Cafe is an excellent breakfast spot, with great coffee and specialty coffee drinks" Crystal said. Enjoy waffles, pancakes, omelettes, and other breakfast favorites – served all day! Lunch is served from 11am to 3pm offering many selections of salads, soups, large sandwiches, 1/2 pound hamburgers as well as tasty daily specials. Outside dining is offered on the deck in summer. Located right downtown, in the space above Downstairs at Erics.
Crystal isn’t the only one who has noticed the exceptional quality at Mi Casa. With high marks on both Yelp and TripAdvisor, Mi Casa is noted for super fresh ingredients, authentic Mexican cuisine, hand-shaken margaritas, and crave-worthy hand-made guacamole.
“I love going to all of them, but if I had a favorite recommendation it would be Blue River Bistro,” Crystal said. “The atmosphere is nice and they have an excellent wine selection. On weekends they have live music, delta blues and instrumental jazz. So relaxing after a long work week!”
Well there you have it. Enjoy trying out all the delectables Breckenridge has to offer!
